MARK BELLIS

How did you get into running?

I'd been a road cyclist for years and never really considered running.  But after series of setbacks and mental health battles I'd fallen out of love with bikes and was pointed in the direction of the Couch To 5K. That was in 2019 and it was the best decision I've even made. I'm very open about my mental health battles over the years and can safely say running has changed me for the better.

What is your favourite event and why?

My favourite event would have to be The Manchester Marathon.  I'm a proud Mancunian and was so happy to complete my first marathon this year. On home turf too.  I managed to raise over £1900 for Alzheimer's Society in memory of my late Mum.

What else do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

This is an easy one! When I'm not running I'm baking - bread, cakes, cupcakes, you name it. A lockdown hobby that got completely out of control.
