We believe everyone deserves the chance to move, connect and belong. Since MileShyClub began in 2017, we have helped people take their first steps towards a more active life, build confidence and find a community where no one gets left behind.

Now, we’re thinking bigger.

We’re an ambitious charity taking bold steps to expand our reach, develop new opportunities and bring our work to more communities. With growing partnerships and new programmes opening doors to people who might otherwise miss out, this is a very exciting time to get involved.

We’re looking for trustees with experience in Finance, HR and People, and Charity Governance to help us turn that ambition into lasting impact. But equally, if you have skills you think you can bring to the table that will help us, we'd love to hear from you.

As a trustee, you’ll help shape our direction, ask thoughtful questions and guide our growth. Your skills and judgement will help build a charity that can reach more people while protecting the warmth, welcome and personal connections that make MileShyClub special.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before, and you don’t need to be a runner! We welcome different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences. What matters is that you share our belief in the power of community and are ready to play an active part in our future.

These are voluntary roles, with expenses reimbursed.

FINANCE TRUSTEE

We are looking for a trustee who can help the whole board understand MileShyClub’s finances and ask the right questions as we grow. Working with fellow trustees and the CEO, you will help oversee budgets, cash flow, reserves, restricted funding, financial controls and annual accounts. HR AND PEOPLE TRUSTEE

We are looking for a trustee who can help the board oversee MileShyClub’s responsibilities as an employer and an organisation supported by volunteers. You will bring informed judgement to discussions about people policies, recruitment, organisational culture, wellbeing and fair processes for handling sensitive concerns.

CHARITY GOVERNANCE TRUSTEE

We are looking for a trustee who can help the board make clear, well-recorded decisions and keep our governance fit for a growing charity. You will contribute to work on our constitution, conflicts of interest, risk, succession, trustee induction and compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
